Brighton have completed the signing of Aldershot striker Jonny Dixon for 56,000 on a two-and-a-half year deal.

The 24-year-old ex-Wycombe Wanderers front man has passed his medical to become the second new striker signed by the Seagulls during the window.

Brighton manager Dean Wilkins told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "He's an exciting prospect and has an excellent record at Conference level."

For Dixon, who began at Wycombe, it is a second chance at league football.

The Spanish-born striker scored nine goals in his five and a half years at Adams Park, most of his appearances coming from the bench.

He then went out on loan for the first time to Crawley in December 2003, before the first of two separate three-month loan spells in successive seasons at Aldershot.

He then made a 6,000 move to the Shots on a more permanent basis a year ago - and has since hit 16 goals in the last 12 months.

Brighton paid a reported 300,000 to sign Rochdale's Glenn Murray earlier in the week.
