Time calls on Aspinall

Warren Aspinall in action for the Seagulls
Brighton's veteran midfielder Warren Aspinall has been forced to retire because of a long-term ankle injury.

The 33-year-old, who has played for 10 league clubs in a 16-year career, said: "I've been advised to call it a day or I will be a cripple."

Aspinall joined Brighton initially on loan last season from Colchester, before making the move permanent.

The midfielder has played for a variety of clubs including Wigan, Aston Villa, Portsmouth and Bournemouth.
