Brentford have signed Millwall forward Lewis Grabban on a free transfer until the end of the season and released striker Carl Cort by mutual consent.
Grabban, 23, joined the Bees on loan in October for his second spell at the club, and has made five appearances this season, scoring once.
Injury-plagued former Wimbledon, Wolves and Newcastle forward Cort, 33, has made just four appearances this season.
The Bees have said he may go abroad or quit football.
Bees manager Andy Scott told the club website: "He has worked tirelessly throughout this season and last to try and overcome niggling injuries and his determination and work ethic in trying to get back to full fitness this season has been a credit to him as a professional and a model for any young player."
His replacement Grabban started his career at Crystal Palace and had loan spells at Oldham and Motherwell before joining Millwall in January 2008.
He also had a period at Brentford last season, scoring twice in seven games.
