Brentford have signed midfielder Marc Laird from Millwall on a month's loan.

Scottish-born Laird, who turns 25 later this month, started his career as a trainee at Manchester City.

He was loaned out to Northampton and Port Vale during his time at Eastlands, and signed for Millwall on a permanent deal in January 2008.

Meanwhile goalkeeper Simon Moore has returned to the club after a loan spell at Basingstoke, with fellow custodian Ben Hamer going back to Reading early.

Hamer was due to return to the Madejski at the end of month after his fourth loan spell at Griffin Park.

Striker Rowan Vine, who failed to make an appearance after moving on loan from Queens Park Rangers, has gone back to Loftus Road.

Moore is back after three months at Basingstoke Town, where he was sent off twice during his 10-game spell.

As a result the 20-year-oldwill now be suspended for the Bees' matches at home to Exeter City in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and away to Oldham in League One.

Laird has made 92 appearances for the Championship side and signed a new one-year extension at the New Den in June.
