Brentford captain Kevin O'Connor has signed a new two-year contract at the newly promoted League One club.

O'Connor has scored 34 goals in 351 appearances for the Bees and has been granted a testimonial to mark his 10 years at the club.

The 27-year-old told the club's official website: "I am delighted to have re-signed at Brentford.

"I spoke with the manager about his ambitions for the future and am excited about the forthcoming season."

O'Connor added: "No one should underestimate the strength of League One this year but I am confident we are building a squad that will be able to compete with whoever we play."

O'Connor has played in defence, midfield and attack for the Bees since making his debut in 2000.
