Bowditch joins Brentford on loan

Bowditch will not be available for Brentford in the FA Cup

Out-of-favour Ipswich Town striker Dean Bowditch has joined Brentford on loan until 10 January.

Bowditch has made just one appearance from the bench for the Tractor Boys this season despite securing a new one-year deal in the summer.

Manager Jim Magilton said the 22-year-old will benefit from the move.

He told the club website: "He needs to be playing regular first-team football and hopefully he can go to Brentford, play well and scores a few goals."

Bowditch has had loan spells with four other clubs since signing his first professional contract with Ipswich in 2002, including two stints at Brighton and temporary moves to Northampton, Wycombe and Burnley.
