Hunt agrees Bees' deal
Brentford's Stephen Hunt

Republic of Ireland Under-21 international Stephen Hunt has signed a new contract with Brentford.

Hunt was Steve Coppell`s first signing - on a free transfer - when the player joined from Crystal Palace last summer.

The 21-year-old has recently established his place in the first-team at Griffin Park.

"I was very happy to sign and I hope it may be an incentive for others to follow suit," said Hunt.

"I now intend to repay the faith the club have in me with my performances on the pitch."

Meanwhile Brentford have transfer-listed Paul Gibbs and Mark McCammon.

Like Oli Gottskalksson, who was transfer-listed a few weeks ago, Gibbs and McCammon are free transfers.

Gibbs made his 50th League appearance for the Bees at Oldham in the 3-2 midweek reverse, while McCammon has scored eight goals for the reserves this season.

But he has struggled to maintain a regular place in the side since signing from Charlton Athletic two years ago.
