Bradford City have signed 20-year-old midfielder Adam Reed on a one-month youth loan deal from Sunderland.

Hartlepool-born Reed arrives at Valley Parade after enjoying a loan spell at League One side Brentford last season.

He is also regular in Sunderland's reserves after joining the club at the age of eight.

"I saw him play on loan at Brentford last season and thought he looked a good player," Bradford manager Phil Parkinson told the club website.

"I thought he did well at Brentford and I like the hunger and desire that he showed there.

"I just think we're lacking a bit in that midfield department at the moment, especially with David Syers out injured.

"I felt we needed another player in the building to compete for those midfield places. Adam gives us that."

Reed will go into the squad for Saturday's game at Burton Albion, subject to clearance being given for him to play.
