Manchester United loan duo leave Bradford City

Bradford City have failed to extend the loans of Manchester United duo Oliver Gill and Reece Brown.

Bantams manager Peter Taylor was keen to keep the pair at Valley Parade, but the Premier League giants decided to recall them.

Taylor told the club website: "We would have liked to have kept them for a little longer.

"But we believe United need them to fulfil some reserve matches. It's a shame because they enjoyed it here."

It means Bradford are two defenders light as they prepare to host Oxford United in League Two on Saturday.

I can keep improving in that position. I want to be playing and starting games and giving my all for the team

Zesh Rehman

The departure of right-back Brown, brother of England international Wes, could reopen the door for the experienced Zesh Rehman.

The Pakistan international had been relegated to the bench with the arrival of Brown, but is keen to make the position his own now.

"When I played there against Nottingham Forest, Preston, Hatlepool, Rotherham and Barnet we've had good games as a team and I feel I've done well there," said Rehman.

"I'm really enjoying it at right back and when the manager needed me in that position I'm sure I can do a good job for him.

"I can keep improving in that position. I want to be playing and starting games and giving my all for the team."
