Wetherall misses Intertoto tie

David Wetherall will miss St Petersburg trip
Intertoto Cup - semi-final, first leg
Zenit St. Petersburg v Bradford City

Bradford City defender David Wetherall - the only man to play every minute of every game in the Premiership last season - misses this semi-final first leg clash.

"David has damaged ankle ligaments," Bantams manager Chris Hutchings said.

"The ankle has become swollen a little bit, so he definitely won't be fit."

With four straight victories under Hutchings to date, further success for City will pitch them into a final showdown with either Aston Villa or Spain's Celta Vigo, with the prize for the winners being a place in the Uefa Cup first round.

Bradford, though, are without defenders David Wetherall and Wayne Jacobs with ankle injuries, while fit-again keeper Matt Clarke is recalled to the squad ahead of Gary Walsh after recovering from a hamstring problem.
