Midfielder James O'Brien has signed a new 18-month deal with Bradford City.
The 19-year-old joined on a three-month contract in August but has impressed in his 12 appearances so far this season.
"He has shown that he has a bright future ahead of him and has a lot of talent," Stuart McCall told BBC Radio Leeds.
"He deserves this extension to his contract and hopefully he'll flourish, become stronger and become an even better player."
O'Brien was released by Birmingham City in the summer, at the end of a two year contract which saw him become a regular in the reserves.
He has represented the Republic of Ireland at under 16, 17, 18 and 19 levels.
