Bradford to make community links

Bradford City will make a greater effort to connect with the local community in 2009, according to joint-chairman Mark Lawn.

Lawn says the club are particularly keen to create better links with the city's large Asian community.

Lawn told BBC Radio Leeds: "We need to talk to leaders in the community and try and break down barriers.

"They is no point saying there is no barriers, because otherwise they would be here watching."

Bradford have been at the forefront of a wider campaign to reconnect with fans, offering fans the cheapest season tickets in the county.

It is a scheme that has won recognition from both the FA and the government - and Lawn is keen to continue to push forward.

"I think we have become a more community oriented club and that is something I was keen to do," said Lawn.

"I am going to do something in January regarding the local community.

"We need to talk to the community see what the barriers are and why they are there and if we can help in anyway to break them down."
