Bradford plead for good behaviour

Bradford City

Bradford City have issued a statement calling on supporters to help drive out any troublemakers at the ground.

It follows an incident last Saturday when a cigarette lighter was thrown onto the pitch from the Bradford End.

The club has pledged to do everything possible to prevent any similar incidents at the club.

All season ticket holders will be getting a letter from the club calling on their help to ensure that last Saturday remains only a 'one-off'.

The incident, which happened as Bradford were about to take a corner against Dagenham & Redbridge, was witnessed by an assessor from the Football Licensing Authority and also was brought to the referee's attention.

The assessor was also alarmed at the number of fans standing up in the Bradford End.

Joint-chairman Mark Lawn told the club's website: "I battled long and hard to see City fans return to the TL Dallas Stand and feel let down by the behaviour of a small number of trouble-makers in this area.

"We will do everything possible to prevent any repeat at future matches and ask all true City fans to support us in cutting out incidents that will damage the image of Bradford City FC."
