Conlon has won over the critics at Valley Parade in recent games
Bradford City striker Barry Conlon is hoping to sit down with manager Stuart McCall to sort out a new deal.
The 30-year-old Irishman has just six weeks left on his six-month contract.
Conlon, who has scored six goals this season, told the Telegraph & Argus: "There's not long left so I'll be going to see the gaffer soon enough to see what his thoughts are.
"Hopefully it's positive news and I can set my mind at rest knowing I'm here for the rest of the season."
"I'll just keep my head down and keep plugging away and hopefully get a few more goals before we sit down.
"I've got a few goals under my belt and it would be good to keep that going.
"The length of contract was good for both parties - the gaffer sees what he's getting and I've got the chance to prove myself.
It was nice to come off the bench and score a few goals but I want to be starting games like any player

"I will always give 100% in training and luckily enough I'm playing at the minute - long may it continue."
Although Conlon has not been a regular starter this season, he has already scored once more than he did all last season, and was in the starting 11 for the last three games.
He said: "I want to play as much as possibly can.
"It was nice to come off the bench and score a few goals but I want to be starting games like any player."
