McCall's side have not won in three games

Bradford City manager Stuart McCall felt Saturday's 1-1 draw at home to Luton was two points dropped.

City took the lead through substitute Barry Conlon despite the sending-off of Paul Heckingbottom, but conceded a late goal to the visitors.

McCall told BBC Radio Leeds: "When we went down to 10 men I'd have accepted a point then.

"But it feels like a defeat when you lose a goal so late after going ahead. It was a poor first half."

He continued: "We couldn't pass the ball or control the ball - I thought we were poor.

"It wasn't through lack of effort or lack of determination; we just couldn't do the basics right.

"I thought in the second half we played a lot better and we created a lot of chances, and I was pleased with the second-half performance."

The introduction of Conlon brought a mixed reaction from the home fans, with some sections of the crowd jeering his arrival on the pitch.

McCall said: "I'm really disappointed with some of the reaction when he was coming on.

"That's probably the most I've ever celebrated a goal because it might not have been a lot, but there were certainly a few boos and that's absolutely despicable for a player of your own team when he's coming on the pitch to get booed - I found that hard to swallow."

Irishman Conlon, 30, admits he was mystified by his reception from some fans: "I wasn't sure at first what was going on.

"I heard some of the fans singing my name, but I learnt from some of the lads after the game that there were a couple of boos and I just can't understand that.

"I don't know if it really upsets me because I'm not sure why there were any in the first place because I've only played a couple of games this season, but I'll just keep my head down and keep going.
