Bradford's Dean Windass will miss five games after being found guilty of improper conduct following an incident after their 3-3 draw with Brentford.
Windass could face further punishment from his club
Windass, 36, was also given a £750 fine after hurling abuse at referee Darren Drysdale in the Valley Parade car park.
The ban, which starts on 20 February, covers games against Milton Keynes Dons, Blackpool, Bournemouth, Oldham and Walsall.
He could face internal disciplinary action over the incident.
