City were forced to sell Francis to Sheffield United
Bradford were forced to sell Simon Francis to Sheffield United due to their financial problems according to managing director Shaun Harvey.
The 19-year-old defender cost the Blades £200,000 although there is a 10 per cent sell-on clause in the deal.
Harvey told City's website: "Our situation meant the sale had to be completed and despite interest from other clubs, Francis opted for United. "The other offers received were in the same quantum as the Sheffield offer."
