Carbone leaves Bradford
Benito Carbone in action for Bradford
Carbone wages were threatening Bradford's survival
Bradford City striker Benito Carbone has eased the Yorkshire club's cash crisis by joining Serie A newcomers Como.

According to Carbone's agent, the player has signed a two-year contract with the Italian club.

Gianni Paladini also revealed that Carbone is seeking to reach a settlement with Bradford on the money he is still owed but did not want the First Division club to go out of business.

"I don't think Benny wants to see Bradford go bankrupt," Paladini told BBC Radio Five Live.

Bradford manager Nicky Law said that Carbone's 40,000-a-week wages were threatening the existence of the Yorkshire club, which is currently in administration.

But Paladini claimed that Carbone could not be blamed for the financial problems at Valley Parade.

"It is out of proportion what they say," said the agent.

"It was a mistake on the part of Bradford to give him that money in the first place.

"Tell Bradford not to worry. We hope they get up in the Premier Division - but next time they should be more careful."

The Bantams face expulsion from the Football League if they are unable to come up with a financial rescue package by 8 August.
