Bournemouth have extended the loan spell of Tottenham defender Adam Smith until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old has made 16 appearances for the Cherries this season, after making his debut at the end of September in the 2-0 win over Carlisle.

Defender Warren Cummings, 30, has signed a one-year contract extension.

Manager Eddie Howe told the club's website: "It has been frustrating for Warren not being in the first team, but his attitude has been spot on."

Cummings, who is in his second spell at Bournemouth, has been limited to six appearances this season.

"He deserves the extra year on his contract and it's reward for everything he has done," added Howe.

Smith is a Spurs academy graduate and has impressed at Dean Court, and has been part of Bournemouth's rise to third in League One.

The defender, who has yet to feature for the Spurs first team and had loan spells with Wycombe and Torquay last season , initially signed for Bournemouth on a one-month deal in September and, after a successful first month, it was extended until January.
