Machin moves upstairs
Mel Machin
Mel Machin has been made Director of Football
Bournemouth boss Mel Machin has been named as the club's new director of football and will also take up a place on the board.

Machin, who has been in charge at Dean Court for six turbulent years, will oversee the development of football for the Cherries.

"It's an honour and a privilege to be invited onto the board and the move will allow me to concentrate much more on dealing with the long-term development of football at the club," he said.

The former Manchester City boss will also assist in the stadium development.

Day-to-day

Head coach Sean O'Driscoll and player-coach Peter Grant will take over day-to-day team affairs.

Machin will also have a role in stadium development
O'Driscoll, who holds the record number of appearances for the club, took on the senior role of Head Coach in February, a position which will now involve all day-to-day management duties at the club.

He said: I'm delighted to take control of team affairs. Its an opportunity that I am obviously excited about and after 15 years at Bournemouth to have the chance to take on this job is a great honour. It will be a fantastic challenge but we've got the right structure and personnel in place to help us succeed."
