Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell snubs Russian bid
Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell has confirmed that he never had any intention of selling the club to a Russian group.
A deadline set by bidders Vladimir Antonov and Roman Dubov passed earlier this week.
Mitchell was approached by an agent on behalf of the Russians.
He told BBC Radio Solent: "He asked me if I was interested in selling my shares. I didn't have to think about it and just said 'no'."
A number of offers were submitted through a third party on behalf of Convers Group Holdings.
But Mitchell who gained control at Dean Court just over a year ago felt a sale would not be in the best interests of the club.
"It's something I really didn't pay much attention to," he said. "I've got no intention of selling. I didn't come into the club to sell and to make a quick buck.
"I've come in here to stabilise the club, help it get its reputation back after the troubles it's had and I think during the course of the year we've worked towards that.
