Bournemouth chief executive quits

Bournemouth

Bournemouth chief executive and director Alastair Saverimutto has resigned from his position with the League Two club with immediate effect.

He has been at the club since July 2008 when he took over from Laurence Jones.

Saverimutto, along with chairman Paul Baker, helped lead the Cherries out of administration in August 2008.

Former Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn and local businessman Adam Murry are on the verge of completing a takeover of the League Two club.

The pair are heading a consortium that has struck a deal with want-away chairman Baker.

Saverimutto told the club's website: "My tenure at the club has certainly been tasking both on and off the field.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed working with all the staff and I would like to thank them for all the hard work they have put in over the months."

Saverimutto, Everton's former head of commercial operations, brought a wealth of experience to the Dean Court role having been involved in sport for more than 18 years.

His career also included playing rugby for Bath, Bristol and Gloucester.
