Fletcher keen on Cherries return

Veteran Crawley striker Steve Fletcher has admitted he would be keen on a move back to his former club Bournemouth.

The 36-year-old has scored twice in 21 appearances since joining Crawley this season, but previously spent 15 years with the Cherries.

Fletcher told BBC Radio Solent: "The Crawley manager and fans are great and I've been playing a lot recently.

"But since the manager made it public that he's had an offer from Bournemouth it's been on my mind a lot."

Fletcher played with new Cherries boss Eddie Howe at Dean Court for a number of seasons, and still lives in the Bournemouth area.

"I'm under contract to Crawley until the end of the season," he said.

"Obviously at the moment I've got to leave it to Eddie and Steve (Evans, Crawley manager), to see if they can sort out a deal to take me back to Bournemouth."

Fletcher is Bournemouth's record appearance-maker, having been at Dean Court between 1992 and 2007.
