Connell scored 11 goals in his first spell at Dean Court from 2002-2005
Bournemouth striker Alan Connell has suffered a slight setback in his recovery from a knee injury.
Connell, 25, still to figure since re-signing from Brentford in August, will see a specialist on Tuesday.
Boss Jimmy Quinn told BBC Radio Solent: "He needs an injection at the back of the knee. He's training but it keeps flaring up.
Connell recently returned to training and was on the bench for the FA Cup first round win over Bristol Rovers.
But Connell is still not ready - and remains in the hands of Cherries physiotherapist Steve Hard.
It's only a slight setback, hopefully it won't be too long unless there's a bigger problem

"He's gathering fluid at the back of his knee so he's going to see a consultant," said Quinn. "He'll need to rest for a couple of days and hopefully that will settle it all down.
"He's desperate to get back in the fold.
"He had it drained the week before last and felt great and now the fluid has built up again. It's clearly frustrating him.
"It's only a slight setback. Hopefully it won't be too long unless there's a bigger problem.
"But Steve Hard thinks it just needs a needle and then hopefully it will settle it down."
