Anderton ponders Bournemouth deal
Darren Anderton
Anderton says he is waiting for Bournemouth to come back to him
Former England midfielder Darren Anderton has said there is "definitely a chance" he may sign for Bournemouth on a pay-as-you-play deal.

The 34-year-old has a home in nearby Canford Cliffs, and was a guest at Dean Court for Saturday's win over Oldham.

Having been a free agent since leaving Wolves in the summer, he is able to move outside the transfer window.

"I love the area and it seems like a good club. Hopefully it will get the green light," he told the Daily Echo.

"I'm just waiting on chairman Abdul Jaffer and manager Sean O'Driscoll to come back to me.

"Bournemouth play good football, and I don't feel like I'm too big to play at that level."

His agent Leon Angel added: "He's got other options, but is quite taken with the idea of playing for Bournemouth."

Southampton-born Anderton won 30 caps for his country, and has made over 400 league appearances for Portsmouth, Tottenham, Birmingham and Wolves.
