Foley completes Cherries switch
Steven Foley
Foley has impressed while on loan at Dean Court
Bournemouth have made Aston Villa midfielder Steven Foley's loan move permanent, signing him for 20,000.

The 19-year-old had scored four goals in 25 games while on loan, and has now signed a two-and-a-half-year deal.

"Steven's been very instrumental in the way we've played," Cherries assistant manager Richard O'Kelly said.

"He's got a great left foot and works the ball well. We thought we might have lost him at one stage, but we can't thank the people at Villa enough."

Foley put pen to paper before Saturday's 2-1 defeat by Chesterfield - but limped off after 12 minutes after a heavy challenge in the early stages.

Bournemouth have also secured the future of youth team striker Brett Pitman on a professional contract until the summer of 2008.

The Jersey-born teenager, prolific at youth level, has broken into the first- team squad this season to make 11 appearances.

His first senior Cherries goal came on his only start, against Aldershot in the LDV Vans Trophy.
