Boston United boss Steve Evans is hoping to bring winger Brad Maylett back from his loan spell at Chester City to bolster his injury squad.
Maylett joined Chester at the start of March with a view to spending the rest of the season at the Deva Stadium.
But with just 12 fit players Evans wants the 26-year-old back.
He told the Lincolnshire Echo: "I am meeting with the chairman and we will discuss bringing him back. But, I'm not that hopeful it will happen."
He added: "It will depend on a few things - whether we can afford to pay his wages and if Chester are prepared to let him go. But we have to try, given our lack of numbers."
