Property developer Des Wood will not be given an extension to his option to complete a takeover of Boston United.
That means Wood has only until 31 December to finalise a deal for Boston.
And current owners the Malkinson family also confirmed to BBC Radio Lincolnshire they are not interested in returning to power at York Street.
However, the Malkinsons declined to comment on suggestions a third party could be lined up to buy the club.
