Davies commits future to Bolton

Kevin Davies
Davies has scored 41 goals for Bolton since joining the club in 2003

Bolton striker Kevin Davies has signed a new three-year contract at the Reebok Stadium, extending his stay until 2011.

The 31-year-old joined the club on a free transfer in 2003 after he was released from Southampton and has scored 41 goals in 208 appearances.

Davies was a target for Hull City in the summer and the club turned down a bid of about 2m from the Tigers.

He follows keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen and Ricardo Gardner in committing his long-term future to Bolton.

The Yorkshireman was awarded the club's Player of the Year award for his performances last season and he scored in the Trotters' opening day Premier league victory over Stoke this season.
