Bolton have signed Spanish midfielder Oscar Perez on a free transfer.
The 24-year-old was available after being released from his contract with Cordoba, who play in the third tier of Spanish football.
The move comes after Bolton had midfielder Ivan Campo ruled out for up to 10 weeks with a broken foot.
"We have signed Oscar to strengthen numbers in the crucial midfield area," Bolton boss Sam Allardyce told the club's official website.
He added: "He has played most of his career in the lower leagues in Spain and will mainly get his chance in the reserves and potentially in the first team later this season.
"He has a great attitude to training and with the right application can develop his career in England."
Perez made only 16 appearances for Cordoba and his previous clubs include Eibar, Real Oviedo and Lealtad.
Meanwhile Fabrice Fernandes has left Wanderers after his contract was cancelled.
The French midfielder is now expected to join an Israeli team - with Beitar Jerusalem and Maccabi Haifa both interested.
