Dwight Pezzarossi has joined Bolton until the end of the season, subject to international clearance.
Pezzarossi impressed on trial
The Guatemala striker, who holds an Italian passport, completed his move after a successful trial spell.
He previously played for Racing Ferrol in Spain, for whom he scored five goals
in 25 appearances last term.
"I am simply happy to be here," said the 24-year-old Pezzarossi. "It is very nice and a great step for me."
Pezzarossi is the fourth addition to the squad during the transfer window.
Manager Sam Allardyce has already boosted his squad with the acquisition of defender Steve Howey, striker Javi Moreno and goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts.
