Bolton sign US keeper
Bolton boss Sam Allardyce
Allardyce has strengthened his goalkeeper options
Bolton have signed American goalkeeper Jeff Cassar on loan until the end of the season.

Cassar, who has been trial on the club, will provide extra competition for places and has received international clearance in time for Saturday's game against Aston Villa.

"Jeff has impressed us. He's a big lad and has a presence in the box," said Bolton boss Sam Allardyce.

Bolton were also keen to bring Roma's Antonio Carlos Zago and Lazio's Sinisa Mihajlovic to the Reebok Stadium.

"Zago is unable to come because of Roma's problems with injury and suspension," said Allardyce.

"We also tried for Mihajlovic. Unfortunately he was away on international duty in Brazil and we wouldn't have been able to complete the paperwork before the transfer deadline."
