Sam Allardyce sees Niven as one for the future
Bolton have completed the signing of teenage midfielder Derek Niven from Raith Rovers.

The Trotters have paid the Rovers an undisclosed six-figure sum for the 17-year-old, who impressed boss Sam Allardyce during a trial at the Reebok Stadium.

Niven was a regular for the Scottish First Division outfit's under-18 side and featured for their first team on a couple of occasions

Allardyce said: "He's an exciting prospect and certainly one for the future."
