Blackpool boss Ian Holloway still wants new signings

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway admits the Championship side are still looking for more players following the departures of several key players.

The Seasiders have signed 11 players, including striker Kevin Phillips, but have been hit by the departures of Charlie Adam and DJ Campbell.

Holloway told BBC Radio Lancashire: "I do not want Kevin to have to shoulder the burden of scoring all the goals.

"I've also lost goals from midfield in Charlie Adam."

Blackpool are looking to fill the void left by Campbell and Adam, who scored 35 goals between them last season.

Campbell left for QPR, while Adam joined Liverpool, but Holloway says he will not be rushed into signing players.

"People have got to realise that in the Championship the transfer window doesn't slam shut on you," he said.

"When you are a Premier League club it does slam shut, you are not allowed to trade.

"But in the Championship you can have emergency loans, it's not such a huge problem as it is in the main league."

Relegated from the Premier League last season, Blackpool have made an encouraging start to the new campaign, recording two successive wins, at Hull City and at home against Peterborough.
