Kevin Phillips will be a hit at Blackpool, says Flynn
Flynn has also been in charge of Wales' Under-17, 19 and 21 sides
Former Wales caretaker manager Brian Flynn has tipped Kevin Phillips to be a big success at Blackpool.
The 37-year-old striker has signed a one-year deal at Bloomfield Road after being released by Birmingham City.
Flynn told BBC Radio Lancashire: "Kevin Phillips is a fantastic signing because he will transmit all his experience to the other players.
"When it's a tight game, the other players will know, if they give him half a chance, he'll take it."
Phillips who has scored 254 goals in 561 career appearances for seven different clubs also has the option to stay with Blackpool for a further year.
If he's free from injury and can play 30 games next season he'll score 20 goals
Flynn, who was capped by Wales on 66 occasions and took temporary charge of the Welsh side after John Toshack stepped down in 2010 also added: "To have that quality in your team is essential if you want to go back up to the Premier League.
"If he stays fit, I would not be surprised if he ends up as the Championship's top goal scorer.
"If he's free from injury and can play 30 games next season, he'll score 20 goals," he said.
