Clarke has scored 24 career goals during 120 appearances
Ian Holloway is set to make his first acquisition since becoming Blackpool manager by signing striker Billy Clarke on a two-year deal from Ipswich.
The club have the option of a third-year for the 21-year-old, who will complete the move when his contract expires 1 July subject to a medical.
"I really can't wait for the season to start," Clarke told the club's website.
"To be honest I didn't think I'd be playing in the Championship so to get another chance is good."
Clarke made his Ipswich debut in November 2005 after coming through the club's academy scheme.
After a loan-spell with Darlington, the Republic of Ireland under-21 international, moved on to a month's loan with Northampton where he scored a hat-trick on his debut against Crewe.
The Cork-born forward ended the season at Brentford where he scored six times in eight games.
"I made my debut four year ago and played around 60 games, and although I had a good time there things moved on so it's all about being here now.
"I'd definitely prefer to play upfront. I scored 18 goals last season so I'd like to think I could score a few goals for Blackpool."
