Butler was keen to move to the north-west
Experienced defender Tony Butler has completed his switch from Bristol City to Blackpool on a free transfer.

The 32-year-old wanted to move closer to his Nantwich home, and returns for a second spell at Bloomfield Road.

He played 116 games for the Seasiders after joining them from Gillingham for 240,000 in 1996, leaving to join Port Vale for 115,000 in 1999.

After a spell at West Brom he joined City on a free transfer in 2002, and played over 100 games at Ashton Gate.
