O'Kane joins Blackpool
John O'Kane
O'Kane in action for Bolton earlier this season
Blackpool have signed defender John O'Kane on a two-year contract after he was released by newly-promoted Bolton, reports BBC Radio Lancashire.

O'Kane was Bolton's first-choice right-back for most of last season but then fell out with boss Sam Allardyce.

He started at Manchester United before joining Everton for 250,000 in 1998.

The 26-year-old then moved to the Reebok Stadium for a nominal fee the following year.

O'Kane has also played for Bury, Bradford, Wimbledon and Burnley on loan.

The Seasiders have also announced a prestigious pre-season friendly with Basque giants Atletico Bilbao, to be played at Bloomfield Road on 7 August.

Meanwhile, Bolton are offering fans the chance to buy old shirts, shorts, socks and training kit worn by the players in the last couple of seasons.
