Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean backs Keith Andrews

Blackburn manager Steve Kean says midfielder Keith Andrews has been upset by his difficult relationship with some of the club's supporters.

Andrews, 30, has received criticism from a section of fans since joining from MK Dons in August 2008.

"He's feeling a little fragile," Kean told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"There's obviously certain sections of the crowd that you have players that you do and don't like, but it's important we help him get through it."

Kean added: "It's every single supporters' prerogative to back the guys they like and the guys they don't.

The last thing we want for him is to be back for one game then be out for the rest of the season

"But we'd love if they'd get behind every single player and not just Keith."

Meanwhile, defender Phil Jones has returned to full training as he continues his recovery from knee surgery.

Jones, who has been out since December, could be fit to face Blackpool in the Lancashire derby on 19 March.

But Kean feels Saturday's trip to Fulham is likely to come a little too soon in the 19-year-old's recuperation.

"I'd love him to be involved against Fulham," he said. "But Dave Fevre [Blackburn physio] has said that the specialist is saying even though he's three weeks ahead of schedule we've got to be very, very careful.

"The last thing we want for him is to be back for one game then be out for the rest of the season having irritated his injury."
