Derbyshire signs for Olympiakos

Blackburn striker Matt Derbyshire
Derbyshire has been with Olympiakos since January

Striker Matt Derbyshire has completed the formalities of his move from Blackburn Rovers to Olympiakos.

The 23-year-old joined the Greek side on a six-month loan deal back in January and had already been the subject of a reported £3m bid.

He scored 11 goals for the league and cup winners after moving to Greece.

Derbyshire, who made 17 appearances for Blackburn in the Premier League last season, scoring twice, has signed a four-year contract.

The Blackburn-born player made his senior debut for Rovers against Fulham during the 2004/2005 season.

He scored his first goal for the club against Wigan on New Year's Day in 2007.

The England Under-21 international scored twice for his new employers in the Greek Cup final win over AEK Athens in May.
