Derbyshire agrees Olympiakos move

Blackburn's Matt Derbyshire has agreed to join Olympiakos on a six-month loan deal - but the move will only go ahead if Rovers find a replacement.

His club's website confirmed that the 22-year-old striker had flown to Greece to finalise the move.

But Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce said: "He has not quite joined yet.

"He has expressed a wish to go and he would like the opportunity to play for them but, like anybody else, a replacement is critical."

Derbyshire has made 17 appearances for Blackburn in the Premier League this season, scoring twice.

The Greek side are 11 points clear at the top of the Super League and are in the last 32 of the Uefa Cup, where they face French side St Etienne.

Derbyshire, who was born in Blackburn, made his senior debut for the club against Fulham during the 2004/2005 season.

He scored his first goal for Rovers against Wigan on New Year's Day in 2007.
