Blackburn striker Jason Roberts suffered a broken bone in his foot during the 2-1 defeat at West Ham, manager Mark Hughes has confirmed.
Roberts was injured after 28 minutes at Upton Park and had to be replaced by Francis Jeffers.
Hughes said: "It's been a disappointing day. We have lost Jason Roberts for a significant amount of time.
"Jason has fractured the fifth metatarsal and so will be out for three or four months."
Of the match itself, Hughes said: "We came here with high hopes of winning the game.
"We banged the drum before the game about making a fast start and dictating to West Ham given their current situation, but that didn't happen.
"We did more in the second half, but their second goal against the run of play took the wind out of our sails."
Blackburn's defeat stretched their win-less run to three games.
