Ferguson clinches Rangers return
Blackburn's Barry Ferguson
Blackburn midfielder Barry Ferguson has rejoined Rangers subject to approval from the Scottish Football Association.

The former Gers captain underwent a medical late on Monday, before sealing a 4.5m move - which could rise to 5m - according to the Scottish club.

Ferguson, who had more than two years left on his Blackburn contract, signed a five-and-half year deal.

"As soon as I knew they were interested in having me back, I wanted to make it happen," he told the club's website.

It is thought that Blackburn had wanted 6m for the 26-year-old, who moved to Lancashire in 2003 for 6.5m.

"The last month has been hard work," added Ferguson.

"I went through a lot of emotions as I thought the deal was never going to go through but it's brilliant to be home.

"I went through all the proper channels and even handed in a written transfer request, but it wasn't until just an hour or so before the window shut that I really knew that I was back at Rangers.

"I missed the club so much and, when I grabbed that jersey again, it felt so good.

"David Murray (Rangers chairman) showed his commitment and I think he has been pulling his hair out but finally we got the deal done."
