Blackburn defender Andy Todd, who was out of contract in the summer, has signed a new three-and-a-half-year contract at Ewood Park.
The 30-year-old joined from Charlton in May 2002 and had fallen out of favour with former boss Graeme Souness, but has impressed new manager Mark Hughes.
"It is really good news. He's been fantastic since the day I arrived here," Hughes told the club website.
"He worked hard to get his chance and responded magnificently when it came."
Todd, who has captained the side recently, is now tied to Rovers until summer 2008, and has proved his versatility in recent weeks.
"He is a key member of the side going forward," said Hughes.
