Blackburn defender Craig Short is set to miss the club's Christmas and New Year programme with a hamstring injury.
Short suffered the injury during the battling 0-0 draw against high-flying Everton on Saturday.
He is expected to be out for a couple of weeks, which could lead to him missing the games against Newcastle, Bolton, Aston Villa and Charlton.
"He just overstretched for a high ball," Rovers boss Mark Hughes told the club's official website.
"He has a slight strain in the hamstring.
"We hope it won't be too long but with hamstrings it is usually a minimum of two weeks."
