Blackburn have signed Dominic Matteo on a free transfer after the Leeds central defender agreed a three-year deal.
He becomes Graeme Souness's third summer signing after Paul Dickov and Javier de Pedro.
The 30-year-old former Scotland international is the latest in the long list of Elland Road departures.
Paul Robinson, Alan Smith and Michael Bridges have already left Leeds while Ian Harte may move to Spain and Mark Viduka is set to go to Middlesbrough.
Souness was delighted to have captured Matteo.
He told the club's website, rovers.co.uk: "Dominic is a proven player with an impressive track record and I am delighted to have him on board.
"He is versatile, able to play a couple of roles both in defence and midfield, and that is an important feature.
"I am very pleased he has chosen to join us and, along with Paul and Javier, feel sure we have recruited someone who will play a major part for us in the
forthcoming season."
