Two more clubs reject Moore
Former Rangers captain Craig Moore
Both Norwich City and Portsmouth have joined Blackburn Rovers by pulling out of the race to sign Rangers defender Craig Moore.

The 28-year-old Australia defender's talks with Blackburn collapsed after a £500,000 fee was agreed.

BBC Sport believes that Pompey's Harry Redknapp is happy with his present four central defenders.

And Nigel Worthington has said: "The overall package was too expensive for Norwich City Football Club."

Worthington disclosed that he would have been interested had the deal been less expensive after being approached by Rangers manager Alex McLeish.

Agent John Viola had, after the collapse of the Blackburn deal, insisted that another Premiership club was still interested.

He is now concentrating on doing a job with Australia

"It was nothing to do with his medical," insisted Viola.

"Talks broke down for normal reasons. We discussed terms, but we could not structure a deal for personal and football reasons."

Moore was transfer-listed by Rangers after deciding to play in the upcoming Olympics with Australia rather than be available for his club.

He will be one of three over-age players in his nation's squad at the Olympic Games in Athens, meaning he will miss the start of the English and Scottish seasons.

Blackburn manager Graeme Souness said that he was still prepared to sign Moore, despite his international commitments.

But talks broke down, although Viola hopes that Moore, who was plagued by injury last season, will find another club within the next seven days.

"He is with representatives of another Premiership club right now in talks with them," he said.

Viola refused to disclose the name of the other club but added: "They are a team who previously showed an interest.

"He is still a Rangers player, but he won't be staying there.

"He is now concentrating on doing a job with Australia at the Olympics.

"He is really looking forward to that opportunity, but we will see what happens in the next week or two."
