SOUNESS'S VIEW
|
Graeme Souness launched a bitter attack on officials after his side were denied two penalties in the draw with Saints.
"We don't get a fair crack of the whip. We haven't had a single penalty this season and logic tells you we would get one in 20-odd games," he complained.
"I could produce a video of a dozen great shouts that I know we would get if we were one of the big clubs."
On the match as a whole, he added: "We gifted a goal to Phillips and that made us nervous given our predicament."
He continued: "There was that much room in the penalty box you had to wonder where all the
defenders went.
"But in the
second half we got going and we should have gone on to win the game."
However, the Blackburn boss reserved his wrath for referee Mike Dean when he failed to punish Graeme Le Saux's challenge on Brett Emerton.
He said: "I'm told it looked like a penalty but it's no surprise to me
that we didn't get one.
"I know if we were Manchester United or Arsenal or Liverpool or Chelsea we would get them."
