Blackburn Rovers have turned down a bid from Birmingham City for centre-back Martin Taylor.
BBC Radio Lancashire understands that the offer was in the region of £1.5m.
Rovers chief executive John Williams confirmed that talks took place after last week's FA Cup tie at St Andrews, but insisted Taylor was not for sale.
Taylor, who has only recently broken back in the side, has been targeted by Blues boss Steve Bruce following an injury to Matthew Upson.
Birmingham have also been linked with a full-time move for on-loan Fulham goalkeeper Maik Taylor.
