Neill out of Uefa Cup tie

Neill is rebuilding his strength

Blackburn's Lucas Neill has been ruled out of the side's Uefa Cup tie against Genclerbirligi on Wednesday.

Neill is recovering well from pneumonia-type symptoms after being admitted to hospital at the start of last week before being discharged on Thursday.

"Lucas has been ill with a debilitating condition that has left him feeling weak," Rovers' doctor Phil Batty told the club's website.

Neill reported to the club's Brockhall training ground on Monday and is working on rebuilding his strength.
